Despite much regeneration of the area and housing stock in different phases and for different reasons over the years, West Bromwich still benefits from its original Victorian properties, and several key historic buildings including a Manor House with moat dating back to the 13th century, thought to be haunted and also an Oak House dating back to 16th Century.

Today, West Bromwich is a popular residential location in the West Midlands. The area benefits from a mixture of Victorian properties, terraces, semi detached and detached houses. West Bromwich is home to the New Square shopping centre and entertainment venue which opened in 2013 and Sandwell General Hospital sits in the centre.
